Carolans Brownies
Ingredients:
- 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 tsp. black pepper
- 4 large eggs
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1½ tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ cup Carolans Irish Cream
- 1 1/3 cups flour, sifted
- ½ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. baking soda
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or sliced almonds
Time
Cooking Time of 25 minutes
Instructions
Line bottom of 9" x 13" baking tray with cooking parchment. In saucepan, melt chocolate and butter with pepper over low heat.
Beat eggs with sugar and vanilla until blended, and stir in cooled chocolate mixture, then Carolans. Sift flour, salt and baking soda into mixture and stir until blended.
Add nuts. Turn into baking tray. Bake at 350oF/180oC until pick, inserted in center, comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
Do not over bake. Cut into squares or bars.
