The taste breakthrough of the new product has already been recognised with a gold medal at the 2010 Liqueur Masters competition in London. Carolans Light was the only cream liqueur to win Gold at the competition.
The Liqueur Masters is part of The Spirit Masters competition run by The Spirits Business magazine. The panel of judges included Nushi Surtani a correspondent for The Spirits Business, Dale Sklar, director of Wine & Spirit International and Paul Leonberg, general manager of the Refinery.
The competition has become one of the industry’s most respected and high profile blind tasting competitions, attracting huge numbers of entries from leading brands across the globe.
Health conscious consumers rejoice. Carolans has solved the problem of low fat cream liqueurs with the launch of Carolans Light.
Carolans Light promises ‘the same great taste, with 50% less fat’. The new brand is being introduced first into Canada with the theme ‘Indulge without the guilt’.
Carolans Light will become the only credible lower fat cream liqueur on the market and has already been enthusiastically received by consumers and trade customers at research stage - all keen for a product that matches appetites for lower fat beverages.
“Carolans Light is tailored for those consumers who really want to make healthier choices” says TJ Carolan & Son Ltd’ Marketing Manager, Benoit Batard.
“We believe that the taste and concept of Carolans Light will attract both new and lapsed cream liqueurs drinkers to the category, expanding total sales.”
Scheduled for launch in Canada in September, Carolans Light will be priced at parity with regular Carolans and supported by dedicated sampling campaigns and in-store merchandising.
This Mother’s Day, Carolans Cream liqueur is rewarding its loyal consumers with the chance to win a weekend break for two at Galgorm Resort & Spa.
The prize includes a luxury spa treatment each, dinner in the River Room Restaurant on one evening and in the lively Gillies Bar and Grill on the other.
